The Wolves

Patrons Theater

November, 2021

Role: Assistant Production Manager

Location: Patrons Theatre, Winston-Salem, NC

Format: Contemporary ensemble play

High-tempo dialogue, tight scene breaks, and staged soccer drills made The Wolves a timing and safety puzzle. As Assistant Production Manager, I supported the production from pre-pro through opening, aligning departments, schedules, and deck flow so the creative intent landed cleanly and safely.

Key contributions

• Built the master schedule and coordinated calendars for design, shops, rehearsals, load-in, and tech.

• Tracked deliverables and issued action-oriented notes to hold the build and install on plan.

• Consolidated documentation in support of stage management and technical direction, including shift plots, deck traffic maps, prop lists, line set schedules, and change logs.

• Coordinated scenery, props, costumes, lighting, and sound milestones with the shop heads to protect fabrication and focus timelines.

• Planned deck layouts and spike maps for movement and ball work, defined safety zones, and aligned warm-up space with rehearsal needs.

• Managed cross-department communication for late design notes and practicable changes, flagged impacts, and secured approvals before execution.

Outcomes

Load-in and focus landed on schedule. Deck shifts executed safely with clear lanes and presets. Movement and ball-work sequences ran clean in tech and held timing through opening. Documentation stayed current, which reduced rework and kept all teams aligned.
