Carolina Herrera: Spring-Summer 2025
New York Fashion Week
September, 2024
Role: Backstage Operations and Model Management
Location: Halo, 28 Liberty Street, New York
Format: Live runway presentation
I supported backstage operations for Carolina Herrera’s Spring 2025 runway at Halo, the new event space at 28 Liberty. The venue incorporates the Noguchi Sunken Garden and sits beneath the Dubuffet “Group of Four Trees,” which made sightlines and pacing critical for cameras and guests. The show ran on the NYFW Monday morning schedule.
Key contributions
• Owned model lineup from final checks to runway release. Verified cards, accessories, and look order at each pass so the running order stayed accurate.
• Led quick changes. Built change maps, preset racks by sequence, assigned dressers by change complexity, and timed rehearsals so the fastest turns were repeatable under pressure.
• Synced readiness calls across styling, hair, and makeup. Released models to lineup only when full checks cleared to protect continuity.
• Kept traffic lanes clear backstage. Routed press and guests away from choke points and protected the entry path to the runway.
• Maintained real-time comms with the show caller and stage management to hold or advance releases, recover timing after delays, and keep the order of show intact.
• Troubleshot last-minute issues in casting and wardrobe, coordinated rapid repairs and swaps, and updated cards and racks to reflect changes immediately.
Outcomes
All quick changes executed within their time windows. No missed looks. Lineup remained accurate from first release to finale. Backstage flow stayed clear, which preserved timing, camera cues, and guest sightlines in the 28 Liberty setting.
